In most cases it will be obvious to the experienced user,
but I have found that some players trying it for the first time have
put it on incorrectly. To summarise the sequence of
use, the following should help where necessary:
1 Before
picking up the Saxophone, first stretch the SaxyStrap© to its maximum
length
by pulling the slider down towards the spring clip.
2 Then with both hands free, place the SaxyStrap© over the head, so that all
the
plastic and metal
fittings lie flat on the chest and the webbing itself is not
twisted.
There are only two possible
ways of putting it over the head, and it soon becomes
obvious if the wrong way is selected, because the SaxyStrap© will not lie flat that
way. The plastic slider will always be on the right hand side.
The photograph on
the
homepage illustrates the positioning well.
3 Now
pick up the Saxophone and attach the spring clip to the ring on the
body
of the Saxophone with the
open end pointing to the right. (This positioning is the
same for all makes of sling in order to reduce
the possibility
of accidental
release
of the clip, as often
happens with other brands of sling.)
4 Now, with the instrument partly supported by the left hand, but still with some of
the weight of the instrument on the SaxyStrap©, pull the slider up with the right hand
until the mouthpiece is at the right level. Subsequent adjustment is easily carried
out in an instant with the right hand only.
